Polyethylene fittings are fittings that are produced from HDPE and LDPE raw materials in various shapes and sizes and have various functions. They are the auxiliary parts that connect to the main machine and pipes or connect them with other machines and pipes. These parts, which are needed and necessary in providing liquid and gas flow, are the elements that must be used during the processes. Not only do they assist the hosts during connections, they are also an integral part of them.
Thanks to the structure of polyethylene, it has provided great convenience in the industrial field. In addition, it has become an indispensable item because it is cheaper and lighter than other alternatives. Polyethylene types and polyethylene inserts cannot be glued or combined with the help of an adhesive in terms of structure. Only welding methods can be combined.
Polyethylene fittings include sleeve, elbow, tee, reducer, flange adapter etc. countable. In our company, you can find every additional piece you will need in any angle and size you want.
What is Polyethylene?
polyethylene material
Polyethylene was discovered accidentally in 1933. After this accidental discovery, it has become an indispensable item for industry. Since it is cheap, it has been preferred a lot and has reached its maturity later. The first polyethylene to be commercialized was “low density polyethylene (LDPE)”. Later, “high density polyethylene (HDPE)” was discovered.
As the development of these raw materials progressed, their usage areas also expanded. Over time, it has ceased to be an alternative raw material and has become one of the most used main materials. Especially in industry, it is cheaper, more durable, more flexible, etc. It has become an indispensable item.
One of the most important features of polyethylene is that it is a moldable product. Polyethylene is a moldable, shaped product. With this item, you can make any additional piece you want and give it the slopes you want. With this feature, polyethylene has become an indispensable material in the production of fittings.
Polyethylene absorbs very little water. It is a solid item. It is durable and has dimensional stability. It is a very good gas blocker. It is resistant to chemicals such as acid, oil, grease. Easy melting, flowing etc. do not do. It can be very transparent and colorless. It has a more opaque and whitish shape when used thicker.
It has the ability to extinguish itself and can resist violet and beyond rays.
What is LDPE?
LDPE stands for “low density polyethylene”. It takes its shortened and widely used form from its English equivalent. LDPE is an abbreviation for “Low Density Polyethylene”. LDPE is the first product of polyethylene, a thermoplastic made from petroleum. LDPE, which was produced for the first time in 1933 by applying low pressure, has continued to be produced with the same formula ever since.
What is HDPE?
HDPE is a hard and high density polyethylene material obtained from petroleum. HDPE is the abbreviated form of “High Density Polyethylene”. Its Turkish translation is “High Density Polyethylene”. HDPE is a much harder and durable material than LDPE. It was produced under high pressure and started to occupy a large space in the industry.
Where is Polyethylene Used?
Polyethylene is an advanced resin used in containers and kitchenware, tubing, packaging films. It is also used in plastic bottles and pipe production. Thanks to its protection feature, its usage and efficiency area is very wide, and it is expanding its usage area day by day. In addition to these, polyethylene inserts are also produced.
Polyethylene Fittings and Pipes
insertsPolyethylene; It is a highly preferred product due to its successful, compatible and reliable structure. It is a substance that does not regret if it is preferred during the production phase and in the raw material selection of the producers. For this reason, we can easily say that it has created a very successful product range. HDPE, sleeve, flange adapter, elbow, te etc. It has started to be used in the production of additional parts and to be produced more thanks to successful results. Products produced with this substance are more durable, lighter, more flexible and more economical.
Injection Fittings
Plastic injection is a plastic part production method. First of all, the process of rapidly injecting the raw material from which the production will be made into the chamber of the container from the runner inlet at a temperature range above the melting temperature in a closed container is applied. Then, with the ironing phase and holding phase, the dimensional and visual tolerance of the piece is brought to an acceptable level. Eventually, the plastic is allowed to drop below its demoulding temperature and the plastic is removed from the mold.
Since this production method is very suitable for mass production, it has been and continues to be widely preferred in the sector. With this method, parts of various sizes and categories can be produced, from the smallest elements to defense industry products. The injection method is low cost. Suitable for automation, no need for post-processing, fast production
it’s cool. With this method, different surfaces, shapes and colors can be produced. In addition, very little material is lost during production.
Another remarkable feature of this method is that it allows the production of more than one shape and size with the same mold. In this way, time and energy are saved and it provides healthy feedback to the producer.
Injection inserts; PP elbow 45°, PP elbow 90°, PP equal 90°, PP fork 45°, PP cross 90°, PP inegal 90°, PP reduction, PP short step reduction, PP short type reducer, PP flange adapter can be exemplified.
Electrofusion Fittings
Electrofusion is the method of joining the surfaces to be welded by heating in the melting temperature range by means of electric current. During this process, polyethylene inserts are actively used. The parts on which the process will be applied should be carefully selected and the surfaces on which the process will be applied should be thoroughly cleaned. Since it is important that the surfaces are smooth and trouble-free, shaving should be done if necessary. In this method, first of all, the attachment is heated by applying electric current at the values suitable for the determined parts.
Then, the surfaces, which are started to be heated in a temperature range above the melting temperature, are expected to become molten. These prepared pipes are placed inside the fitting to be welded up to the limit of resistance. After this process, the entrance limits are marked on the pipe. Then, by taking the support of the additional parts, the molten mouth parts are combined with the help of pressure and waited for a while.
Electrofusion surfaces to be welded should be cleaned with oxygenated water after all the attachments to be used during welding are removed from their special protective sheath, box or packaging. After this step, hand contact of both pipes and fittings should be avoided.
Electrofusion fittings; PP EF equal 90°, PP EF inegal 90°, PP EF elbow 45°, PP EF elbow 90°, PP EF cap (blind plug), PP EF sleeve, PP EF reduction, PP EF service 360°, PP In service with EF valves, they can be exemplified as PP EF saddles.
